Everything is Politics

Katherine Bullion

With the recent shooting in Florida, people want something to happen. People are taking the issue to politicians, expecting them to answer. This seems to be all I’ve heard about in the past week or two. It’s important to know about, yes, but I don’t want that to be all I hear about from now on. Especially when no one can agree.

One of the main reasons why people can’t agree is politics. People have different agendas when it comes to this issue. And it’s all rooted in politics. Personally I hate politics. I don’t agree with either party on most things. They seem to take things to the extremes and most of the time I can’t bring myself to care about the issues they argue over. I’m in the middle on most things and I’m happy with that. If someone brings up politics, I don’t get involved.

Even with this issue I have no solution. I try not to think about it or else I freak out. And I don’t need that right now. I’m just worried about school and my grades. I also know that no one would listen to me if I had an opinion on it. I think something should be done, obviously, but I don’t want to get in fights with people over it. I just don’t care enough. And it’s sad that this issue has come down to politics. It makes me never want to address the situation.

I may seem childish because of this but I don’t care. I’m just over all this political talk. It’s not fun and people will never agree so why even talk about it. We need to get something done and to do that, we need to put our politics to the side for the benefit of children.
