Generation Z's Faith and Spirituality in Modern Times

As I sat in Hunter Presbyterian Church’s undercroft for the annual fall festival, I took a look around. The fall festival is clearly meant for kids as all of the games are homemade and simplistic with the rewards being candies and sodas.

Laughing and cheering is heard from the various participant and most of the participants are on the older spectrum of Generation Z. I couldn’t help but remember days of my childhood in church when there were more children.

A concern has been arisen that Generation Z is the most atheistic generation with some studies like those found on Barna suggesting that Generation Z is twice as likely as their older counterparts to consider themselves atheistic.

So I took to the classroom and even asked the interim pastor of Hunter Presbyterian Church some questions on Generation Z’s faith and what could be possible explanations for the recent trend of atheism.
